IIT was founded by John Russell and Paul Baker, who have known each other from their days as apprentice carpenters over 35 years ago. They have worked together ever since, both locally and nationally. With over 70 years combined experience and know-how, there's little the two of them don't know about the business and craft of carpentry.

In 2014, John and Paul crossed paths with Ricky Flint, who has over 20 years' experience in commercial roles with main contractors and developers in London and the Home Counties. All three discovered they had a lot in common and found that their abilities complemented each other's, resulting in the formation of IIT.
